Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SB 436 -- ISSUANCE OF DRIVER'S LICENSES

SPONSOR:  Goode (Koller)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Transportation by a vote of 9 to 0.

This bill requires a person to make an application for duplicate
commercial driver's license when a person changes his or her
name.  Currently, a person only has to notify the Department of
Revenue when his or her name is changed.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Licenses should be updated when a person changes
his or her name.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Goode.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
